ZLOADR Integrates MARC Records and Single Sign-On for Library and Institutional Access
SEW Capital's library distribution platform now delivers MARC records, SSO, and institutional licensing for ebooks, audiobooks, journals, and audio dramas — catalogued once via ONIX, settled transparently, and designed for library acquisition cycles
LONDON, United Kingdom —
November 1, 2026 — ZLOADR, SEW Capital's library and institutional distribution platform, today announced the integration of MARC records, single sign-on (SSO), and institutional licensing across its full catalogue. The move gives libraries and institutions a single point of access for ebooks, audiobooks, journals, and audio dramas — catalogued once via ONIX and delivered with the metadata and authentication systems libraries already use.
For library acquisitions teams, the announcement addresses a persistent operational problem: integrating new digital content into existing catalogues without manual work, configuring authentication without adding staff overhead, and licensing content on terms that fit institutional budgets and acquisition cycles.
"Libraries don't need another platform to learn. They need content that works with the systems they already have," said Sam Enrico Williams, Founder and CEO of SEW Capital. "ZLOADR is designed to make titles orderable, cataloguable, and lendable without adding operational overhead. MARC records are generated for every title. SSO works with existing identity systems. Licensing settles like any other institutional purchase. That's the whole point."
What ZLOADR Delivers
| Library Requirement | ZLOADR Delivery |
|---|---|
| MARC records | Generated for every title, ready to ingest into existing catalogue systems without manual cataloguing |
| Single sign-on (SSO) | Works with existing institutional identity systems — no separate login for patrons |
| Institutional licensing | Annual access fees, per-title term licences, or usage-based tiers — recurring if renewed |
| Metered access | Per-checkout or per-simultaneous-use licensing, distinct from Public Lending Right (PLR) |
| Multiple formats | Ebook, audiobook, journal, and audio drama access from a single catalogue record |
| Transparent settlement | Institutional checkout settles in ZDR like every other channel, with per-avenue line items traceable to external statements |
How Institutional Licensing Works
ZLOADR offers four licensing models designed for institutional acquisition cycles: annual access licence (recurring annual fee for ongoing access), per-title term licence (fixed-term licence for a specific title), usage-based tier (licensing priced against actual usage — checkouts, simultaneous-use slots, or page-reads), and metered access (per-checkout or per-simultaneous-use licensing, where the library pays per lend through the platform).
"Institutional licensing is the highest-value per-unit channel," the company explains. "One institutional licence can pay more than hundreds of individual retail sales combined, and it renews. That's the model libraries are used to — we've made it easier to administer."
Where national PLR schemes apply, ZLOADR titles accrue per-loan fees through the relevant scheme. In the UK, the 2024/25 rate is 12.40p per loan, with a maximum cap of £6,600 per author per year.
Part of a Full-Stack Publishing Infrastructure
ZLOADR is one of SEW Capital's owned distribution platforms, alongside AskSurFa (print), VoxFlicks (consumer audio and ebook), and the ONIX wholesale feed (40,000+ retail and library endpoints). A work produced through SEW Capital's PubEx 1.0 engine is catalogued once via ONIX and distributed across all channels — ZLOADR is where institutional licensing and library lending happen, while VoxFlicks handles consumer retail and AskSurFa handles print.
"One finished work, every channel it can reach," the company states. "ZLOADR is the institutional door. It's not the only door, and it doesn't need to be."
Distribution Reach
ZLOADR titles are distributed across 40,000+ retail and library endpoints, 195 countries via wholesale, and 2.5M+ libraries worldwide. Endpoint and country figures describe the distribution network available to the catalogue, not a guarantee of stocking. Whether a specific library takes a specific title remains that library's decision.
